Adam Conway has joined the Jones Day’s Perth office as a partner in its energy practice. His new role will see him lead the team’s energy and resources transactional work in the WA capital.
Throughout his career, he has advised on all aspects of mining projects including tenure, exploration, logistics, joint venture issues, farm-ins, tolling arrangements, asset acquisition and divestment, off-take agreements, contract disputes and energy supply, according to a statement from Jones Day.
In addition, the firm noted that Mr Conway’s recent work has involved assisting on a range of commodities including gold, iron ore, nickel, spodumene, mineral sands, vanadium, uranium, rare earths and iron oxide copper gold.
“Adam is an outstanding addition to our global energy team and is the ideal person to lead the Energy and Resources side of the practice as we continue to grow in Perth,” said Simon Bellas, partner-in-charge of Jones Day's Perth Office.
“Given the outlook for increased project and transactional activity in the energy and resources sectors, it is an opportune time to build our energy and resources transactional capabilities. Adam will drive those efforts for us, and I look forward to his contributions.”
Chris Ahern, partner-in-charge of Jones Day in Australia and Japan offered a similar sentiment.
“Our Perth Office has one of the leading energy and resources disputes practice in the region,” Mr Ahern said.
“The addition of Adam to our transactional capabilities sends a very clear message to the market that Jones Day remains committed to the region, and to providing access to top-tier representation for our energy clients no matter what their specific needs.”
