Firm: Corrs Chambers Westgarth (Home4Life Limited)

Deal: Corrs Chambers Westgarth has advised Home4Life on its selection by the NSW government to finance, develop and provide disability accommodation services in the Hunter region.

Value: Undisclosed

Area: Aged care, Government

Key players: The Corrs team was led by partners Rommel Harding-Farrenberg, Andrew Chew and Paul Carrick. Support was provided by partners Natalie Bryant and Mark Payne. Special counsel Megan Russell, associates Pavithra Vigneswaran, Anthony Coudounaris and Jennifer Gamble, and law graduates Cristina Beretta and Bethany Larum assisted.

Deal significance: Home4Life is a joint venture by BlueCHP and Compass Housing Services.

BlueCHP and Compass Housing Services are Tier 1 community housing services providers. Corrs also advised BlueCHP in its role as the design and construction contractor for the project.

Home4Life will work with specialist independent living providers who will provide care to residents and management of specialist disability services.

The project will see 69 new group homes in the NSW Hunter region, and provide accommodation for 330 residents.

It will provide “much needed tailored and supportive accommodation to residents currently living at the Kanangra, Stockton and Tomaree residential care centres”, according to a Corrs statement.

The homes are part of the NSW government’s transfer of disability services to the non-government sector, supporting Australia-wide NDIS deliverance.

A Lighthouse Infrastructure fund is providing finance for the project.

Commenting on the development, Home4Life director and BlueCHP chief executive Charles Northcote said, “All new Hunter Residences dwellings have been designed by expert architects for contemporary, community living and will be in accordance with the standards of disability housing set by the NSW government and the NDIS.’’
