Ashurst nabs Perth partner
Ashurst has welcomed a new partner to its Perth office, who joins from Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
The international law firm has named Jason Salman as the newest partner in its restructuring, insolvency and special situations practice in Perth.
Prior to joining Corrs, Mr Salman was based in London for over a decade and was a partner with Kirkland & Ellis and Greenberg Traurig practising in the event driven distressed funds restructuring space, a statement from Ashurst said.
Throughout his legal career, Mr Salman has specialised in special situations funds looking to invest in Australia, and has acted on some of the most complex and high-profile recent debt restructurings in the Asia-Pacific region, the firm added.
Ashurst practice head for restructuring, insolvency and special situations, James Marshall, said the firm was delighted to welcome Mr Salman to its Perth practice.
“He has significant cross border experience and a strong track record of high-profile deals,” Mr Marshall said.
“He will add to the strength and depth of our market-leading restructuring practice in Australia and across the Asia-Pacific region.”
Commenting on his new role, Mr Salman said: “I am excited to be joining Ashurst’s finance team, which is renowned for their exceptional credentials”.
“It is a great opportunity to build the firm’s west coast and regional restructuring offering.”
