The firm noted that 60 per cent of those promoted were female, which it championed as being “another stride in the right direction” for its strategy of identifying female talent and increasing the representation of women in the senior ranks.

Sparkes managing partner Phillip Salem said the firm was “really proud” to have a record number of high-performing individuals put forward for promotion this year.

It shows the firm is “on the front foot”, he noted, when it comes to harnessing and cultivating its pipeline of talent.

“Through our internal mentoring and redeveloped career pathways programs, we are investing in our future leaders more than ever before and it’s paying dividends,” he said.

“The firm is going from strength to strength, having recently bolstered our commercial insurance offering, among other huge successes so far this year.”

The new partners are Hannah Rose (pro bono), Main Sainsbury and Colin Davidson (commercial insurance) and Emanuel Oros (corporate and commercial).

The eight lawyers promoted to special counsel are Summer Foley, Dino Liistro, Jehan Mata, Emily McKeowen and Laura Rush (commercial insurance), Catherine Morton (corporate and commercial), Oliver Young (government) and Sam Jackson (workplace).

And the 15 new senior associates are Lani Carter, Aimee Dash and Shannon Steed (commercial insurance), Alinta Briggs, Samantha Smith, Sasha Vleeshouwer and Luke Woodward (corporate and commercial), Adam Cunynghame, Samantha Ferry, Andrew Keevers and Alanna Lucchese (government) and Kelvin Defranciscis and Laura Hinwood (statutory lines insurance).

The announcement follows Lawyers Weekly reports that Sparkes had poached 32 from newly-merged entity McCabe Curwood.
