Ashurst recruits two DLA projects partners
International firm Ashurst has appointed a pair of senior practitioners from global firm DLA Piper.
Ashurst has appointed two partners to the firm’s Brisbane office, who will, in the firm’s view, support the its strategy to maintain and build upon its projects practice across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
Alex Guy, who was the head of DLA’s head of finance and projects practice group, and Dan Brown, who brings “significant expertise in large-scale infrastructure, natural resources and energy projects in Australia, Asia and the Middle East”, have both come over from DLA Piper.
Speaking about the two appointments, Ashurst division head of projects and real estate Geoff Gishubl said he was looking forward to their arrival.
“The appointment of Alex and Dan supports our active growth agenda for the projects practice, while further enhancing our ability to deliver innovative project infrastructure solutions to our domestic and international clients,” he said.
“Alex and Dan both have a wealth of experience and technical knowledge, and I am confident they will make a significant contribution to the practice.”
Ashurst practice group head of APAC projects Lee McDonald added: “Alex and Dan’s expertise perfectly complement our existing projects practice and will further strengthen our leading infrastructure capability.”
“I am confident they will play a valuable role in further developing our client offering in Brisbane and in the wider Asia-Pacific region,” he said.
