NRF loses real estate partner to international rival
Cameron Thomson has officially joined Clyde & Co’s partnership in Sydney, following news that he would be departing Norton Rose Fulbright last year.
Speaking about his new role at Clyde & Co, Cameron Thomson (pictured) said he was delighted to be joining a firm that he had watched “grow exponentially” in recent years.
Mr Thomson has over 20 years’ experience specialising in real estate matters.
In addition to his local reputation, the Clyde & Co partner has experience in dealing with investors from China, south-east Asia and the north Asia region. He counts government, corporate real estate and inbound investor stakeholders among his clients.
He has been recognised by The Legal 500 as a “highly recommended” real estate lawyer in Australia, and is currently recognised by the same group for his work with POSCO Engineering & Construction from South Korea.
David McElveney, Clyde & Co Australian projects and construction head, said that Mr Thomson would lead a non-contentious real estate practice from Australia. This would complement other Clyde & Co teams in Singapore, Hong Kong and China, and the Asia Pacific, he added.
“Those capabilities, along with the firm's extensive footprint in the region, made establishing a dedicated non-contentious real estate practice in Australia the next logical step,” Mr McElveney said.
