Firm: King & Wood Mallesons (Super Retail Group); Greenhill (Super Retail Group); Bell Gully (Super Retail Group)

Deal: Super Retail Group has been advised on its acquisition of Macpac.

Value: $135 million

Area: M&A

Key players: One of the legal teams advising Super Retail Group was led by KWM Brisbane-based M&A partner Rhys Casey.

Mr Casey was supported by KWM senior associates Isaac Evans, Mandy Tsang and Greg Protektor, and solicitors Heather Boulton and Samir Bhagat.

Deal significance: Macpac is an outdoor equipment and clothing retailer. It is a vertically integrated retailer which currently has 54 retail stores across Australia and New Zealand, as well as an online webstore which services a number of other countries.

Super Retail Group’s acquisition of Macpac will see it consolidate its existing Rays business with Macpac, under the Macpac brand.

“We are really pleased to have partnered with our long-standing client Super Retail Group on this acquisition, which will support its strategy to build a leading outdoor adventure retail business in Australia and New Zealand,” said KWM partner Rhys Casey.
