K&L Gates has revealed it has appointed Sam Brown as the new partner, who joins from Watson Mangioni.

Mr Brown brings to his new role extensive experience having advised on various matters concerning real estate, including acquisitions and disposals of development land and built form assets; government tenders; major project and development agreements; and fund through arrangements.

He has also advised on matters concerning property developments (commercial, mixed use, and residential); commercial, industrial, and retail leasing; land use and access rights; property due diligence; large-scale infrastructure transactions; and property funds, according to a statement from K&L Gates.

K&L Gates managing partner, Australia, Nick Nichola, welcomed Mr Brown to the firm.

“Sam’s breadth of experience in Australia’s property industry will be of tremendous benefit to both domestic clients and foreign companies seeking investment opportunities in Australia,” Mr Nichola said.

“We are very pleased to welcome Sam to the partnership.”

Mr Brown said he was excited to be joining K&L Gates’ partnership.

"With a team of approximately 200 lawyers, K&L Gates has one of the largest and most diversified real estate practices of any global firm,” he said.

“I look forward to offering my clients the full resources of K&L Gates’ fully integrated global network."
