WA wind and solar project kicks off

One firm has advised on the first co-located wind and solar project in Western Australia.

Firm: Holman Fenwick Willan (Synergy)

Deal: Synergy has been advised on the establishment of the Emu Downs Solar Farm.

 
 

Value: $50 million

Area: Projects and infrastructure

Key players: The legal team advising Synergy was led by Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) partner Simon Adams and senior associate Jo Garland.

Deal significance: The 20MW solar farm will have approximately 80,000 solar panels, covering 70 hectares.

This transaction saw Synergy purchase both the energy and large-scale renewable generation certificates until 2030.

HWF partner Simon Adams said the firm’s “renewable project expertise was invaluable given this is the first co-located wind and solar project in Western Australia”.
