Tech disrupter completes ASX-listing
One firm has advised on the ASX-listing of a new investment entity that is focused on technology and other disruptive business models.
Firm: Arnold Bloch Leibler (Thorney Technologies)
Value: Undisclosed
Area: IPO, corporate
Key players: The legal team advising Thorney Technologies was led by ABL partner Jeremy Leibler (pictured), with assistance from senior associates Jeremy Lanzer and Jason van Grieken, and law graduate Emma Ferguson.
Deal significance: This transaction involved the ABL corporate and commercial team advising on the recapitalisation of ASX-listed shell Australian Renewable Fuels and relisting it on the ASX as a new investment entity focusing on technology and other disruptive business models.
As it has been extensively covered in the press in the lead up to its listing, Thorney Technologies has attracted interest from a number of high-net-worth investors.
Commenting on the transaction, ABL partner Jeremy Leibler said, “Thorney has a proven track record with the results of Thorney Opportunities and we look forward to assisting Thorney in achieving even greater success for Thorney Technologies.”
Thorney Technologies will invest in both start-up and established businesses in Australia, the US, Israel and other locations.
ABL previously acted for the Thorney Group in relation to the recapitalisation of ASX-listed Wentworth Holdings and the establishment of Thorney Opportunities in 2013.
