Hitachi buys Aus manufacturer
Two firms have advised on the sale of an Australian mining, quarrying, heavy construction and materials manufacturer to Japan-headquartered Hitachi.

Deal: Hitachi Construction Machinery Co Ltd (Hitachi) has acquired H-E Parts International LLC and H-E Parts Australian Holdings LLC (collectively H-E Parts).

Key players: The legal team advising Hitachi was led by MinterEllison corporate M&A partner Geraldine Johns-Putra, with assistance from corporate M&A partner Alberto Colla and competition partner Geoff Carter.
The MinterEllison lawyers involved in the transaction included corporate M&A lawyers Roberta Foster and Brad Woods, as well as competition lawyer Miranda Noble.
Deal significance: Headquartered in Japan, Hitachi is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.
The company has over 20,000 staff globally and markets its products worldwide through a network of company-owned independent retailers.
H-E Parts provides solution services to the mining, quarrying, heavy construction and materials sectors. It develops, manufactures, sells and repairs after-market parts for mining and construction machines, primarily in Australia and the USA.
