Corporate entities complete merger
Two firms have advised on the merger of two corporate entities that were both established by the Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney.
Firms: DibbsBarker (Sydney Anglican Home Mission Society); Ashurst (Anglican Retirement Villages)
Value: Unquantifiable. There was no financial consideration involved as the deal involved the merger of two organisations operating within the Anglican Church.

Key players: The team advising Anglicare was led by DibbsBarker partner Lis Boyce (pictured), with assistance from partner Juanita Rayson, special counsel Marie Feltham and lawyer Libby Radjenovic (Corporate).
Other people involved were insurance partner Andrew Saxton, IP partner Scott Sloan, special counsel Catherine Boxhall, property partner Bill Burrough and associates Kerri-Ann Martinus and Alexandra Henderson.
Deal significance: The merger of Anglicare and ARV brings together both organisations’ residential aged care, home care, retirement living and other community programs into a single organisation.
The new organisation, which will remain known as Anglicare, will provide services to around 50,000 people every week.
It will operate 22 residential care homes serving 2100 people, 22 retirement villages serving 2600 people and will provide service to 1500 people in the Homecare program and 3000 people in HomeHelp. It will also have 21 day and respite centres.
