G+T takes Chance to advise on deal

Deal significance: City Farmers is a specialty retailer of pet food, supplies and products and has a current portfolio of 31 stores. The store network is primarily in Perth with an emerging presence in Brisbane and Melbourne. Quadrant Private Equity has $1.5 billion of funds under management and investments in 51 businesses. Clifford Chance’s lead partner Michael Lishman commented: “While headlines may focus on activity levels in the resources sector, we are seeing increased interest in other sectors, such as retail, leisure, general industrials and media. Private equity is continuing to assess and invest in strong Australian businesses with growth potential.”
