Firms: Baker & McKenzie (J.P. Morgan); Freehills (Astro Japan Property Group)

Deal: Astro Japan Property Group's capital raising

Area: Corporate

Value: $25.4 million

Key players: Bakers advised J.P. Morgan as lead manager and underwriter of Astro Japan Property Group's placement. Partner Craig Andrade (pictured) led the team, which included associates Cathy Chan and Gardi van Zyl.  Partners Andrew Reilly and Eric Boone also provided international securities law advice.

Deal significance: “We were delighted to be instructed by J.P. Morgan on this significant capital raising for Astro Japan Property Group. The placement, which was heavily oversubscribed by both existing and new institutional investors, will partially fund the settlement to retain the seven properties in JPT Direct Co. Ltd and JPT August Co. Ltd,” said Andrade.
