Arnold Bloch Leibler acted for Icon Construction as the client moves into New South Wales and ties up with Southern Cross Constructions.

Icon has been developing and constructing quality, cost-effective property projects for its clients since its establishment in 1997 by founders Ashley Murdoch and Nicholas Brown.

This transaction will see Icon operate in New South Wales under the “Southern Cross Icon” brand, further enhancing its construction capacity while consolidating its development arm.

Southern Cross Constructions’ principals Lewis Yazbek and Andrew Box will both join the Southern Cross Icon business.

The matter was conducted by Arnold Bloch Leibler partner, Jonathan Wenig, and Senior Associate, Jeremy Lanzer, with the banking & finance aspects of the matter conducted by Arnold Bloch Leibler partner, Nathan Briner, and Senior Associate, Laila De Melo.

Jonathan Wenig said the firm’s lawyers had to prepare and negotiate a number of complicated documents under a tight timeframe.

“But we welcomed the challenge,” he said.

“It’s always gratifying to act for clients who are astute and capable.”
