Mallesons has acted for Nestle Australia's Purina PetCare division on a new acquisition.
MALLESONS Stephen Jaques lawyers from intellectual property, M&A and competition have acted for Nestlé Australia’s Purina PetCare division on a new acquisition.
The company has acquired the KraMar pet accessories business. Mallesons’ legal team included partner Katrina Rathie leading on the IP aspects, partner Michael Barker and solicitor Adrian Slack from M&A. Partner Sharon Henrick and solicitor Tamara Hunter worked on the competition aspects of the deal. Barker said: “The acquisition extends Nestlé’s Purina PetCare business following its previous acquisition of Supercoat petfoods, on which we also advised the client.” The transaction is expected to close within a month. Prior to the sale, the KraMar business was majority owned by AMP Private Equity funds, together with founder Ed Kreamar.
