Karen Evans-Cullen (pictured) was one of five new appointments to the Federal Government’s Takeovers Panel announced yesterday (16 April).
Two Sydney silks have also been appointed to the Panel: Ian Jackman SC from Eight Selborne and John Sheahan QC from 5 Wentworth.
The Panel is a peer review body and the primary forum for resolving disputes about a takeover bid until the bid period has ended. It consists of 36 members appointed from Australia’s takeovers and business communities.
Herbert Smith Freehills partner Fiona Gardiner-Hill was a member of the Panel until her death earlier this year.
